For as long as I can remember I have felt happiest and most connected to myself in nature. Growing up in Colorado I had so many opportunities to be at home in nature. Always exploring the outdoors by myself and with family and my friends. Snowboarding was a favorite- the complete awe of the raw beauty all around me filled me up and motivated to reach the tops and the back bowls of the mountains to escape to absolute peace on earth- the loud silence, the twinkling snow, the stillness of life. The mountains are my home- I find myself speechless at their immense beauty and incredible strength. They are familiar to me yet so vast that I could never know every curve or peak but I know them- they silence my mind and hold me still while my soul drinks up their love. Nothing fills me up more than being in the mountains. Being away from them has been difficult for me- I moved away over 10 years ago and I long to see them every single day. But my life choices have led me to where I am and I am learning to choose to see the beauty of where I am at any moment, and its not alway easy. The mountains will always be home and I take great pride and joy in teaching the joys of them to my husband and children.
